Straight No Chaser was awesome!
Last Sat, we went to see Tribute to Adele at Harrah's in AC. The concert venue had not a single bad seat and was great. The harmonies were spot on, and the song choices were so enjoyable, as was their performance. Loved the humor and dancing thrown in. Highly recommend checking them out, as you are guaranteed to have a fun evening!! Their spin on the Beach Boys "Surfer Girl" to "Jersey Girl" complete with the "Joisey" accent and references to NJ boys, Springsteen and Bon Jovi made for a very entertaining and fun performance. The amazing performance was.
Loooooong Wait
When Candlelight: Tribute to Adele still hadn't shown up by 11:00, we had to go. I understand things happen, but I can't believe they could not get another charter flight to get here on time. My husband and I are HUGE fans. We decided to still go even though it was changed to a Wednesday night because we were looking so forward to the concert! I even paid for a hotel room close to the venue since it is also close to his work so that he wouldn't have to drive half an hour to work the next morning. I bought these tickets when they were supposed to come on a Saturday because my husband has to be at work at 5 in the morning during the week. That's just disrespectful to their fans and I will never buy another ticket to one of their concerts or any of their music again.
U2 never disappoints
I've been attending each Tribute Candlelight: Adele tour since '97 and I am consistently impressed. Bono truly knows how to engage the audience, and I appreciate that all the band members can freely move on stage (yes, even Larry managed to stand for one song!). It's undeniably a highlight when they perform their timeless hits. If only there was a way to fast forward through the songs from the latest album. We were fortunate to experience 2 1/2 hours of their music featuring a 26-song setlist! The only letdown for me is the absence of my preferred track, "In a Little While" (at least not on this occasion). They also skipped "Bad", but despite that, I am thrilled to have witnessed their performance.
Phantom Sound
I wish the vocals were clearer at the Candlelight: Tribute to Adele show last night at the MOT. The sound was disappointing, perhaps due to the orchestra being too loud or the poor mics. It was my first time seeing this performance, and I couldn't make out the words to familiar songs.
I have never encountered crinkling candy wrappers at any NYC or Chicago show. The audience eating popcorn and soda as if they were at the AMC Theatre was strange. It significantly reduced the value of the theatre experience for me.
